Angel house building project
Doug needs some framing to start.
We would like to see half the membership help on Friday, and half on Saturday.

Friday has been canceled due to rain and scheduling

Now that spring seems to be definitely upon us, there are some exterior items that we can be looking for on our homes (don’t forget the interior items, such as A/C checks, changing the batteries in your smoke detectors, etc.).

Here are a few items..feel free to add more!

• Check and make sure gutters are clear for the spring rains (hopefully this was done before the last storms)
• Make sure the downspouts and splash guards are in place - you don’t want rain running down next to the foundation
• Check on sump pump and pump drain lines (if you have one)
• Speaking of storms, check your shingles to see if there is any wind or possibly hail damage
• Lawn preparation is important now
• Check for cracks or holes where bugs and birds could possibly get in and make their nests
• Repair cracking caulking
• Painting is important for the life of your trim
• Don’t forget maintenance on other equipment such as lawn mowers, weed and hedge trimmers, garden tillers, etc.

These items not only keep your home in repair, but keeps the value where you want it - UP!

Just a friendly reminder that the Public Seminar “Selecting Your Remodeling Professional” is scheduled for tomorrow night, Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.  This will be held at Lafayette Neighborhood Housing (the old Jefferson High School building) at 619 N. 9th Street in Lafayette.  Parking in the lot just north (and across the road) from the building.  Follow the signs to the meeting room on 2nd floor.

 Our goal is to keep this to 1 hour, so we all won’t be keeping you any longer than you wish.  NARI members will be available both before and after the seminar to answer any specific questions you may have.
